The current Yale Russian Chorus is touring California again this March, with its new director Ioann Popov and new repertoire. Here in Silicon Valley, the YRC will be giving an intimate concert at a private home in Portola Valley. This will be an outstanding opportunity to be immersed in the music and culture of the Chorus.

In addition, several public concerts are planned, taking place in Oakland, San Francisco and Riverside. For information about these additional performances, please see www.eventbrite.com/o/the-yale-russian-chorus-29687327727.

Founded in 1953, the Yale Russian Chorus was the first Western musical group to tour the Soviet Union during the Cold War, in 1960. Members of the YRC, both current students and alumni, continue to live out a mission of performing music that unites people across the world. With a repertoire rich in decades' worth of sacred and secular Slavic music, the YRC has maintained a historic reputation of singing to audiences all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Georgian countryside. Stories of tours of eastern Europe enrich the chorus' tradition---Most recently the chorus toured Russia in Summer 2019.
