Wed - 2/23/22 - 5 p.m. - the Joe Rogan Spotify Controversy
After a coalition of scientists and medical professionals widely criticized Spotify for allowing podcaster Joe Rogan to spread Covid misinformation on its platform, Neil Young and other artists pulled their music in protest. Shortly thereafter it was revealed that Rogan had made several racial slurs over the years, for which both Rogan and Spotify CEO Daniel Ek have apologized. Nevertheless, Spotify continues to stand by Rogan, who has announced he has no plans to leave the platform.
Please join our special guest Yale Journalism Lecturer Joanne Lipman, who has weighed in on the controversy both as an on-air CNBC contributor, as well as in a recent Time editorial entitled “Spotify Has a Much Bigger Problem than Joe Rogan.”
