Wed - 3/16/22 - 5 p.m. - Yale's Corporate List and Its Extraordinary Impact

$0.00

While some corporations immediately ceased Russian business operations in the wake of Putin’s Ukraine invasion, other companies (notably McDonald’s among others) continued to conduct business as usual. Meanwhile, Yale School of Management Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld began to publicize a list of companies that continued doing business in Russia – and the impact has been enormous.

Literally one day after Professor Sonnenfeld called out McDonald’s for continuing its Russian business operations, the fast-food chain reversed course and announced that it would be ceasing Russian operations. Other companies such as Starbucks, Coca-Cola and Yum Brands quickly followed suit, with over 100 companies announcing plans to cease Russian operations just one day after the list was widely publicized.

Please join our special guest Professor Sonnenfeld as he discusses the inspiration for the list, the impact it is has had as well as his analysis of the corporate response to the crisis.

Audience participation is strongly encouraged, and audience questions will be presented to Professor Sonnenfeld during the event. If you would like to submit questions in advance, please email us at yaleclubofsiliconvalley@gmail.com.
